Mardi Himal trekking is a short and spectacular trip in the Annapurna region. This trek goes through ancient rhododendron forest to what feels like the face of the mountains themselves as you get up close with Mardi Himal, Machhapuchre (fishtail), and Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Ganga Purna, and Annapurna I. The diversity of flora and fauna only seen in the Himalayas make this an interesting glimpse into the biodiversity of the mountains. In this trek, you will traverse the novel, less explored paths to reach to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4100m) and also you get to explore the tranquil routes that pass through ethnic Village and lush farmlands Mardi Himal Trek is a hidden gem that people yet to discover. We begin our 11 Day trip in Kathmandu with visits to UNESCO world heritage sites before heading to the shortest and quite trek in the Annapurna region “Mardi Himal Trekking”.

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing tours to world heritage sites of Pashupatinath Temple-the holiest Hindu Temple on the bank of sacred Bagmati River, Bodhanath Stupa – the biggest Buddhist Stupa architecture in the world! Patan Durbar Square is the oldest city in the Kathmandu valley with age old tradition also called Lalitpur – the city of fine arts. The visit covers the Durbar Square, the Krishna temple, the Kumbheswore temple, the Golden temple and many more. Swayambhunath Stupa-the 2000 years old legendary stupa on the hillock also nick-named as monkey temple.
We leave Kathmandu and head towards the western side through the highway road. The drive moves along the winding path with huge Trishuli River on our right. The beautiful view of green hills, villages, forests and terraced farms gives us company throughout the drive. After the long drive we finally reach Pokhara, the major tourist destination in Nepal and which also famous for number of lakes. We will walk around the city for some time and spend our night at the hotel there.
The trail is good, first slowly up, then a bit steeper to Australian Camp (2060m – About one hour), then after that slightly downhill to Pothana (1950m) then up again to Deurali (2100m). There is a right turn in Deurali signposted “Forest Camp” the trail is through jungle, at first up then undulating on the top of a ridge, there is a section just over half way where the trail drops steeply and then slowly gains height and then back onto the ridge and into Forest Camp (2600m
We will start the trek by walking ahead from the Forest Camp. We will walk for some time through the forest area. The rich natural beauty we see around is really admirable. The walk continues till Low camp. While reaching Low Camp we take rest for some time and spend the time enjoying the beauty around where we can get the best view of Mount Machhepuchhre (Mount Fishtail). We continue our trek by walking uphill through rhododendron bushes on our sides. The walk ahead will take us closer to Mardi Himal and Mount Machhapuchhre. We will continue our trek for some more time until we finally reach the High Camp. We can get the splendid view of mountains from there.
We have to pass few uphill and downhill trails on our way to Mardi Himal Base Camp. The trail here is more rough and rugged. The most exciting part of this trek is reaching the base camp from where we can get closest view of several numbers of peaks like Mount Annapurna, Mardi Himal, Mount Hiuchuli, Mount Machhapuchhre and many more. Once at the base camp we will spend time taking picture together and getting engrossed in the splendid view surrounding us. Then we will head back to the High Camp.
From the High Camp we will follow the trail that will take us to Sidhing. We enjoy walk ahead with picturesque landscapes accompanying us throughout. The trail is not so difficult here and the walk gets pleasing. We come to the stop once we reach the village of Sidhing.
After a short walk now the trail skirts an outcrop- there’s the road and transport. We will be back to Pokhara by the lunch. You’re free here to feel the moderate climate and scenery of this Magic land or Dream Land of Nepal. Explore the various interesting places like Mahendra Cave, David’s fall and the various lakes of course.
Today we head back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. We take good rest and soothe our aching muscles.

12 Trekking Day
We will have to walk around 6 to 8 hours per day/ 10 to 12 km per day more or less. We will have our breakfast at the tea house and begin our trekking as in the middle of long trekking we will have our lunch at the tea house and after some time we will start the trekking again. However, will end our night will dinner at tea house take rest to have some fun and remaining trek we will start it again tomorrow after breakfast.
